Villeroy & Boch: Dewdrops inspired new bathroom collection

Antao by Villeroy & Boch comes in a holistic range that includes ceramic bath, washbasins, furniture, mirrors, and taps

Inspired by the organic shape of a dewdrop, Antao is a new collection of bathroom elements designed by Sebastian Schneider and Florian Kallus, aka kaschkasch, for Villeroy & Boch.

The collection highlights shapes, colours, and materials that tie up all the elements including ceramic washbasins, bath tub, furniture, mirrors, and taps.

Organic Form

The slightly asymmetrical form of a dewdrop is instantly recognisable in the surface-mounted washbasins that come in three sizes from 40cm to 65cm. Just as no two dewdrops are alike in nature, each washbasin in the collection is individually shaped for every size category. Meanwhile, the complementing Antao vanity unit, which measures from 80cm to 120cm, supports the washbasin in a graceful fluid contour.

Besides providing a characteristic design, the organic asymmetry of the washbasin also brings functional benefits. For instance, its spacious surface allows for the perfect placement of the coordinating Antao tap.

The taps themselves extend the dewdrop theme with soft contours and unique shape that in turn complement the collection with 11 different models in Chrome, Matt Black, and Brushed Nickel finish.

The range comes in nature-inspired hues, starting with the classic white in a matt or glossy finish, followed by matt Black, Almond,  and a new shade of Morning Green. These mellow, earthy colours complement each other but also do well in monochromatic pairings.

Furniture Complements

The collection’s extensive furniture range consists of vanity units and consoles in different sizes, as well as a selection of complementary furniture including sideboard, highboard, tall cabinet, and medium cabinet. They are available in three tranquil hues of Stone Grey, Leaf Green, and Midnight Blue.

Each furniture is made with a high-quality material such as natural oak and walnut, and a stone panel in natural Botticino marble. The base and the panel can be configured individually and painted in a single hue or in a combination of colours. They can also be fitted with optional oak organisers or LED drawer lighting inside.
