Nestled in the heart of Bali, Studio Nimmersatt is a dynamic award-winning lighting design consultancy with regional influence across Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Embedded in its very name – nimmersatt, a German word meaning “insatiable” – is the studio’s core philosophy: to remain “always hungry” for new encounters, experiences, and design explorations.
The office space was conceived as a physical expression of this ethos, reflecting the studio’s holistic approach to light, shadow, colour, texture, movement, and their interplay with form, space, and materiality. An eclectic blend of materials, colours, and styles is carefully orchestrated to define the space and bring the creative essence of Studio Nimmersatt to life.
The office was designed to emit a youthful energy from the entrance. Its façade resembles a modern lightbox, softened with curated greenery that lends a natural touch. Inside, a layering of styles unfolds: industrial elements are expressed through exposed black wiring that offer a stark contrast to the white walls.
The bohemian aesthetic is enhanced with natural materials such as rattan and an exotic mix of artworks, paintings, and tapestries collected by the team. The retro charm is playfully introduced through the simple terracotta tiles and generous use of vibrant yellow, red, and blue. The careful blending of these styles results in a space that is more than an office – it is a living homage to the studio’s philosophy of being hungry for new experiences and thoughtfully incorporating them into their approach.
The LS CUBE in Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier® was chosen for its specific quality of capturing the essence of the design concept. Its surface-mounted design is a classic for industrial styles, while the vibrant colours chosen are reminiscent of the retro vibes intended by the studio. Vivid hues of red, blue, and yellow from the Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier® range were also used in combination with each other, for example matching a yellow frame with a blue button, injecting a layer of personality and creative verve to the space.
Furthermore, as prolific lighting designers, having a top-notch lighting system by JUNG in place at the office is essential for Studio Nimmersatt’s unique office set up.
