Bangkok's P30 House showcases a modern setting with character

Sophisticated self expression: This quirky home in Bangkok features a range of JUNG's sleek products.

Architect Ratthaphon Sujatanonda and interior design firm Normal Practice meticulously designed P30 House in Bangkok that encapsulates the homeowner’s quirks, while integrating luxurious contemporary elements, and an intentional connection with the outdoors. The design challenge for this residence lay in harmoniously fusing these aspects into a visually cohesive interior. By carefully selecting materials and balancing colours, thoughtfully planning out various spaces, and deliberately incorporating large-scale elements, the design team skillfully crafted the abode, marrying self-expression and timeless sophistication.

Situated on a sprawling 3,000 sqm property, the P30 House is a two-storey residence with an additional loft space that juts out from the central common area, serving as a visually stunning architectural element. From this central space, the residence branches out into two wings that separate the bedrooms from the communal areas, which include a swimming pool, curated garden, gym and more.

The interior of the P30 House embodies a modern tropical living concept, seamlessly merging the refined elegance of contemporary interiors with the soothing qualities of nature. Organic materials such as wood and stone are thoughtfully combined with marble and metallic accents, resulting in a space that’s both luxurious and inviting for the homeowner and guests. Its grandeur is emphasised by large-scale elements, such as the impressive winding staircase in the lounge. Meanwhile floor-to-ceiling windows amplify the connection to the outdoors, framing the surrounding garden as an integral part of the interior.

A distinctive feature of the P30 House is the extensive display of the homeowner’s personal collection of artwork and figurines. Showcased throughout the residence – from the common walkway to the lounges and the dedicated display room – these cherished pieces infuse the home with personality, making it a lavish yet personal haven.

Colour plays a pivotal role in unifying the residence’s three core themes: personality, luxury and nature. A muted neutral palette of white, cream and brown dominates most of the home, creating an inviting atmosphere while providing the perfect backdrop for the collection pieces to stand out. In contrast, a darker palette of black and grey defines the living area and display room, allowing the lighting to accentuate the homeowner’s favourite pieces.

The LS 990 from JUNG in both stainless steel and dark aluminium were selected to complement the different colour palettes used – push-buttons and sockets in stainless steel were installed for areas with a lighter palette, and dark aluminium was used to match the darker shades. With an elegant metallic sheen and a user-friendly tactile experience, these elements perfectly align with the design team’s vision. The KNX system was also implemented in the P30 House to enhance the holistic luxury experience.
