To achieve this look, MDL designed the roof to be made of an easy-to-form, special cementitious fibre board and a marine-grade membrane to glue the whole thing together and protect it from the weather. This construction technique is made to have a uniform seamless surface with no visible joints, adding to its distinctive aesthetic character from whatever angle it is viewed from. UNDER ONE ROOF The project has two distinct functions, the hotel and clubhouse, separated by a central volume with the lobby that also serves as a link that positions Dusit Thani Laguna as the perfect space for sports and recreation. The hotel, which occupies the left side of the building when viewed from the golf course, has six floors with 198 rooms and suites. Towards the end of the building on the left, a series of terraces that are open to the sky through cut-outs in the roof as it vaults up from the ground are an extension of each of the executive tier of rooms and suites.
